Ever since their Historic Shady Lane engagement, I’ve been SO looking forward to Jamie and Zayne’s wedding!! Historic Shady Lane is one of my favorite venues of all time!! It has such a unique areas, like a gorgeous greenhouse, a stunning bridal suite and the ruins of an old building. There’s really no bad spot anywhere at Historic Shady Lane! Not only is this venue just perfection, this couple is definitely one to brag about! I’ve known Jamie since I was on stage crew for our high school musical. She is an absolute bundle of joy and sunshine and I can’t remember a time when we wasn’t bubbling with joy… and her wedding day was no different!!
How They Met & The Proposal
Jamie and Zayne met the old fashioned way… a blind date!! Their best friends (who are now married to each other) set them up and on that very first date they talked for six hours straight and haven’t stopped since! I was so excited (and surprised!) when Jamie messaged me about wedding photography because they hadn’t actually announced their engagement yet! Talk about a hard secret to keep! Zayne proposed on a Friday evening after Jamie came home and asked if they had any plans for that evening (they didn’t). Jamie responded with a “That’s boring” and then went outside to play with their pup. A couple minutes later Zayne came outside, got down on one knee with a ring and said, “If you want to make things exciting, we can get married!”
Their Historic Shady Lane Wedding
This Navy and Pink wedding at Historic Shady Lane was one of love, laughter and fun! I spent most of the morning with Jamie and got to see as she transformed into an absolutely beautiful bride. For most of the morning she was so calm and collected. She surprised her dad with an F.O.B. tie clip, which absolutely made his day!! Their wedding was filled with personal touches from reading an excerpt from Harry Potter during their ceremony to the paper flowers Jamie made for their bouquets and centerpieces. I absolutely loved celebrating with these two and their family and friends and am so happy to see such a wonderful couple start their lives together. :)
