It is no secret that the bridal prep time is one of my favorite parts of the day. Each of the items you’ve put so much time and effort to chosen to wear on your wedding day make up the most beautiful story. I always try to prepare my brides so they know what to expect on their wedding day, because anxiousness always comes from the unknowns and what-ifs. I don’t want there to be any what-ifs when you think about your photography!
When thinking about the beginning of your day, it is always a great idea to place all of your details in a bag or basket for us so that when we arrive, everything is in one place. Things that we love to photograph include:
- Bridal Gown (with a wooden hanger)
- Bridesmaids Dresses
- Bride’s Shoes
- Bride’s Jewelry
- Rings (all three!)
- Perfume
- Bridal Headpiece / Veil
- Bouquet
- Stationery (invites, programs, etc)
- Heirlooms
- Clutch
- Gifts
If you have all of those items gathered, it is also a good idea to ask your florist if they can include a few loose stems. We love when your bouquets are delivered around the time we arrive so we can include the GORGEOUS flowers in your detail photographs. By having a few loose stems, we are able to incorporate a theme throughout ALL of your details by styling a shot with just one or two stems occasionally. The loose stems add such a beautiful touch to a ring shot or an invitation photo… and I mean, who doesn’t love a beautiful flower?! Usually including a few loose stems is super easy for your florist because they’ll naturally have a few left over after assembling your bouquet!
So when talking to your florist, be sure to ask if it might be possible to have a few loose flowers so that we can incorporate them in more photos! If this wasn’t enough to convince you… I’ve included a few photos that include a few loose stems, and man do I love every one!
