It isn’t too often that both Benjamin and I get in front of the camera, but last August we decided to get some anniversary photos taken by the talented Aaren Lee Photography! We met up on a weekday afternoon in August, which ended up being NOTHING like our wedding and was super hot!! If you’ve ever heard us talk about our wedding, you’ll have heard about how perfect the weather was! Our wedding day was low humidity and like 75 degrees (we have a picture of a thermometer to prove it!!). The day we met up with Aaren was FULL of humidity and heat, but thats why we do two outfits, right? :P

Benjamin and I decided that we wanted a natural atmosphere, but with an awesome structure! When we heard about Hunting Hill Mansion at Ridley Creek State Park, we knew it was definitely a contender. A week or two before our shoot, we decided to take a little excursion to visit and ended up meeting a park ranger who was kind enough to even show us the inside! This mansion had a MASSIVE fireplace that I’m pretty sure ten people could stand in! It was absolutely gorgeous and grand and we just knew we had to have our photos taken there.

For our session we stuck to the outdoors and I just love the look of the mansion. Aaren does an amazing job of just letting her couples be in the moment without intruding! It was fun to have an hour just to be in each other’s company without the distraction of technology. As awkward and uncomfortable as I am in front of the camera, Aaren captured our love beautifully and I can’t wait until we have a house with tons of wall space to plaster these all over!
