The weather this past week was absolutely crazy, BUT this time it worked in our favor!! The week started out at 60 degrees and quickly dropped as a snow storm came through and blanketed the Northeast. As the temperatures rose back up, we hoped that there would be some snow left for Saturday, and there was!! As I drove through the Lancaster countryside to see the beautiful fields and a perfect winter setting, I was so excited :)) I’m thrilled to share a little tidbit of Heather and Nate’s love story today and can’t wait to share the rest in September!
How they met
When Heather and I first talked she mentioned that her and Nate had a funny story of “how they met.” The story starts 5 years ago when Heather and Nate ended up at the same bar and exchanged numbers to find out they lived a few blocks from each other. Between the interruptions of friends they parted ways and didn’t connect again until 2014 when Nate ended up being friends with Heather’s neighbor! They ended up a few times at the same backyard picnics when Nate asked for Heather’s number a second time… to find out he already had it!! They put the pieces together and realized they had already met (and hit it off!) before!
The proposal
Heather and Nate were celebrating their 2 year anniversary in a private and romantic setting in the woods. They planned to hike, visit wineries, but the weather didn’t cooperate for hiking so they spent am afternoon at Greendance Winery. They decided to take a few bottles home with them. One of the women brought out a bottle and handed it to Heather. As Heather read the words engraved on the bottle of wine, she saw those four words that every girl dreams of… “Will you marry me?”
Their Lancaster Winter Engagement
When Heather and I were chatting about their wedding and she said that in any weather situation, she’d be willing to do whatever it takes to get amazing photos, I knew these two were perfect! Then when she mentioned that she’d LOVE to have snow for their engagement session I knew these two would be up for anything! We met at her mom’s property in the countryside of Lancaster that had the perfect winter setting. There was still a light blanket of snow and we took of every little spot and even included their adorable pup!!
