On Monday we met up with Nicole and Bill for their engagement session! We hadn’t originally planned to go to Hunting Hill Mansion, but it ended up being the perfect alternative for their beautiful summer engagement session. I’ve been wanting to shoot there since we had our anniversary portraits done there and it finally happened!!
How they Met
Nicole and Bill met three years ago when she started working at a new part time job. They didn’t really start to get to know each other until the following spring when their mutual friend was set on getting them together! Bill was known as super sweet around work and all of the customers always asked how he was still single. The following summer these two started dating! Bill asked Nicole out for Pho for their first date, and Nicole had never eaten anything like that before! She thought it was going to be a weird test of all of the weird things she would be willing to eat. They followed up with a date with fireworks a few weeks later and ended up being inseparable.
The Proposal
Throughout dating, they talked about marriage on and off as they tested their compatibility and made sure they wanted the same things. She was not expecting a proposal for at least another 6 months so she was super surprised when it came early :) He was a little stressed about picking a ring, and they had so many friends getting married that there wasn’t a rush in either of their minds. They were traveling in California when they reached a beautiful lookout point overseeing the entire city. The emotions ran high and Bill hadn’t even planned to propose BUT without a ring in that moment, he asked her to be his wife! She was so happy she couldn’t even answer and they just hugged and hugged before she finally said yes! The ring came later when Bill’s grandmother revealed that she had an heirloom ring that she would love for them to have. (And MAN is it a real stunner!)
Their Hunting Hill Mansion at Ridley Creek Engagement
I know it won’t last long, but I am LOVING this low-humidity and cooler evening weather! I met up with Nicole and Bill at Hunting Hill Mansion, which is such a relaxing and inspiring place. We wandered around the grounds, found the PERFECT blue flowers to match Nicole’s blue dress and documented some beautiful love :) I can’t wait for their wedding this fall!
