I am so excited to share this wedding from last July! A little overdue right?! If you’ve followed me for a while you probably know that I love second shooting : ) This wedding I shot at Skytop Lodge in the Poconos with Nicole Dumond Photography. I started second shooting with Nicole in 2015 when she found out she was pregnant with her second (and adorable) child who is now over a year old! I’ve watched Nicole as her talents have grown and as our working relationship has morphed into a great friendship.
Their Skytop Lodge Wedding
As we looked at the forecast leading up to this gorgeous wedding in the Poconos, it wasn’t a matter of IF it would rain, it was a matter of WHEN. A few prayers were answered as we arrived and the sun was still shining! Skytop Lodge is a beautiful place to get married and host a reception. I loved Cassie’s choice for blue bridesmaid dresses and beautiful gold and pink decor! The reception room at Skytop Lodge is one of the most beautiful. The windows go to the ceiling and the decor had the perfect pop against the wood walls. We headed to a nearby church for their catholic ceremony and the rain even held off for them to do a rose petal sendoff!
The rain started THE MOMENT we pulled into Skytop Lodge upon returning from the ceremony. When I say started, I really mean let loose. It was like a torrential downpour. We evaluated our options and realized that Skytop Lodge has the most beautiful porches (and windows- but I already mentioned those : P). We easily adapted to do Cassie and Todd’s portraits under the cover of rain but still outdoors. Their reception was absolutely beautiful and their family and friends were so ready to start dancing that there was a dance break in the middle of dinner! We could tell that this wedding would be one heck of a party :) Cassie and Todd chose to end their perfect evening at Skytop Lodge with a sparkler exit.
