Many of our presents (mainly ornaments) for friends and family this year consisted of handmade items that we had been working on for a month or two. However there was one that was a little different. When Benjamin (my husband) was younger, he made this picket fence for his mom, painted it and hung a little “Happy Easter” sign on it. Ultimately the plan was to change the sign at different holidays but he never ended up making those signs! So this year, we decided to make a little handmade Christmas gift that was mini version of that picket fence and spruce it up a bit with a nice tree and some decorations for different times of the year.

As Benjamin was constructing it, we were trying to determine how we could show the different seasons. For some reason, my mind went straight to buttons! We never knew there was so much variety of buttons until we went to get them for this little craft, but oh man, some of them are pretty great (just check out the winter setup)!
