Sometimes it is hard to come up with personal touches to a wedding. Today I’m sharing one way we were able to personalize one of the physical elements that remind us of our closest family and friends who celebrated with us on our wedding day… our guest book!
I was designing an album one sunny summer afternoon in the midst of wedding planning, when it hit me… everything fell into place. My (now) husband is a chemist and I had been trying to think of some way to include his profession, alongside mine as a photographer, in our wedding day. I sketched it as fast as I could before I lost it… it was the moment that our own personal “element” was created.
Most everything we did for our wedding followed the guidelines for a traditional wedding but included a personal flare. We threw out so many ideas to try and figure out a unique idea for a guest book, and once the “element” was created, the idea for the guest book fell into place. We ended up discovering this company that prints pictures on tiles and quickly decided that our element would be perfect on one! We left space around the edge so there was room for our guests to sign.
On display with our guest tile are the glass flowers Benjamin had made as part of our unity candle. During wedding planning I gave Benjamin a few things that were totally his responsibility. One was the cake topper and the other was our unity candle. He ended up going above and beyond and had an glass oil candle set blown with intertwining glass tulips and glass lilies to polish it off. It was one of the coolest things and looked beautiful at the wedding, but I’ll go into more detail on that another day!
