Last week I ventured into Philly to spend some time with Tracy and Ryan for their engagement session! After going back and forth deciding on a location, we landed on the idea of hanging out in Old City since the two of them spent so much time there together as they dated!
How they met
Tracy and Ryan originally met at work. They both work in the construction industry and ended up on the same job. There was some obvious attraction at the Christmas party that year, but the timing wasn’t right so it wasn’t until a few years later that they reconnected. Once again their jobs brought them together at a Sixers game and after that fateful evening Ryan finally asked for Tracy’s number! The following day Ryan called and asked Tracy to go on a date the following weekend. They ventured to the Stratus Lounge and stretched the night out as long as they could popping by different places because they didn’t want the night to end :)
The Proposal
For you AGT fans, you’re going to love this proposal!!… Ryan was taking Tracy to a Coldplay concert for his work, and his company just happens to have a suite at all of the concerts and games. They started their night at Rouge for dinner and then headed to the concert where all of Ryan’s coworkers were there AND they were getting a private magic performance by Jon Dorenbos. (If you don’t know who he is, you should totally google him, BUT he is an awesome magician that was on America’s Got Talent a few seasons ago!). At the time Jon was the Philadelphia Eagles long snapper and also on his way to the AGT finale. As the phones popped out to film his tricks, Ryan kept urging Tracy to sit up front so he would do them on her. She describes the rest as a blur because the next thing she knew was that Jon turned a half dollar into a ring and then Ryan was down on one knee asking her to be his! He surprised her by taking her to another box where all of her friends and family were waiting to celebrate! Their Fall Old City Philadelphia Engagement
We started this beautiful fall engagement in Philadelphia at Elfreth’s Alley. There’s just so much charm on such a little street that we couldn’t pass up the chance to stop by. I think it was the perfect spot and Tracy’s shirt in some way matched every single nook! We paused at what seemed like every doorway to showcase a new color before heading to the Merchants Exchange building! Tracy and Ryan changed into a timeless outfit combination and I loved the way their dark colors popped against the light buildings :)
