One of my favorite things is when couples make sure their engagement session really reflects who they are as a couple and this Valley Forge engagement was just that. Tina and Rick found so many ways to insert important moments from their relationship in their engagement session, and I loved every bit! Not only are they huge Disney fans (and actually got engaged there!), but they also love How I Met Your Mother AND Sherlock. Talk about the trifecta!!

How They Met

Tina & Rick met online in April of 2014. Just when Tina had lost hope and had decided to delete her profile, Rick popped up! For their first date, they ended up at the Penrose Diner in Philly for 4 hours!

The Proposal

Nearly every girl dreams of that fairytale proposal and Tina’s dream had been to get engaged at Disney itself… where dreams come true! Tina’s sister and brother-in-law are also photographers and captured the entire proposal flawlessly :D As Tina a Rick approached the castle at Magic Kingdom, Josiah and Steph popped out of their hiding place and Rick got down on one knee to ask her to be his wife!! Her parents also surprised her and were there to greet them with hugs and well wishes on their magical engagement!

Their Valley Forge Engagement

The personal touches didn’t stop there. Tina and Rick are huge How I Met Your Mother fans and knew that they wanted to include the yellow umbrella in their engagement session. So we decided that the train station at Valley Forge would be the perfect setting! Not only did we include the yellow umbrella AND the blue french horn, but one of the first conversations they had, was about Sherlock. So obviously they included books that represented each of them individually, and Sherlock, which represented them together :) The last (but certainly not least!) nod to their interests was to Disney!! …specifically beauty and the beast! Not only did we discover the most perfect staircase on the back of the train station, but they included a “Be Our Guest” sign!
