Marisa and Jonathan’s Lancaster Wedding at Fireside Tavern was one that truly reflected the love they share and the abundant love of their family and friends. Although it was a little overcast, their wedding day was filled with an entirely different type of light :)
a little about the Sherts
Marisa and Jonathan got engaged on a cold day in February a little over a year ago. Marisa’s friend Rachel was visiting and when Jonathan got home from work, they decided to show Rachel Long’s Park in Lancaster (where we did their engagement session!). On the car ride to the park they had started talking about their trip to Gettysburg a few months prior. Marisa uttered a few “complaints” about how that trip was when Jonathan was supposed to propose! Little did Marisa know that he was about to pop the question!! As they were looking out over the frozen pond, Jonathan got down on one knee, Rachel (who was just as surprised) recorded it and Marisa said YES! We did their engagement session at the same park and the very gazebo in which they got engaged!
their Lancaster wedding
When I asked about what Marisa and Jonathan were most looking forward to on their wedding day, Jonathan replied with seeing (and celebrating) with all of their friends and family in one place! He wanted to be able to look back on their wedding day and remember the joining of families, great food and a wonderful party :) Marisa couldn’t wait to see all of the planning and hard work come together to create a beautiful conglomeration of the things they love, like books, scrabble and desserts! These two filled their day with so many personal touches, like Marisa’s grandfather’s handkerchief wrapped around her bouquet to her hair clips made from her grandmother’s wedding dress, every bit of their day had a personal element.
To Marisa and Jonathan, thank you for giving us a little glimpse into your love and allowing us to document your wedding day :) We had a wonderful time celebrating with you and dancing the night away!
