At the end of last week we ventured into the city to meet up with Katie and Adam in Old City for their engagement session! We knew there was a chance of rain, but since Adam flew in from Florida for this session I wanted to make the most of his visit, like we had planned! We didn’t realized when we originally scheduled their engagement session, but it was exactly one year from their wedding!!
How They Met
Katie and Adam actually met when they were 5 years old… So really, they’ve known each other nearly their ENTIRE lives. Their families were close friends and they actually went on vacation together with a bunch of families when they were younger. They dated for 3 years in high school, but when it came time to go to college, they decided to part ways. Well, fate had a way of bringing them back together… :) The Christmas after they had both graduated college, they reconnected and it was like no time had passed!
The Proposal
This past Christmas they had planned to go to New York City as their presents to each other and I can only imagine how much of a dream NYC is at Christmas time! They went to a Broadway show on Saturday afternoon and ended up back at their hotel after. Adam wanted to check out the rooftop view over drinks. Since it was such a beautiful view he suggested they take a picture together and set up the camera. When he returned, he was shaking and Katie immediately knew what was happening. Instead of setting up the camera to take a picture, Adam recorded video of the entire proposal!!
Their Old City Philadelphia Summer Engagement
In my opinion, this engagement session was the absolute best way I could have started summer! I met up at the end of last week with Katie and Adam and we wandered around Old City Philadelphia for this beautiful summer engagement session. We saw some rain forecasted but since Adam had travelled so far to be in town for the weekend, we decided to brave it! We started the session with beautiful weather and wandered around some of my favorite spots. It started raining halfway into their session so we stuck to covered areas in Old City, and it didn’t disappoint! Adam and Katie were such troopers and were so perfect even with the rain!
