Alison and I go back YEARS. She was a bridesmaid in my wedding, the lead in my senior spring musical (we did The Sound of Music and I was one of the main nuns!… that’s an embarassing fact, why am I sharing that?? :P)
I loved getting to photograph these three in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania when there was a little more green, a lot more warmth
Silas is one of the most adventurous men I’ve ever met. He balances Ali like no one I’ve ever met. She is so spirited and happy and he is chill but down for ANYTHING. Their son was born almost exactly one month after our second and I just LOVE seeing our boys grow up together. Ali and Silas moved to Pennsylvania a few years ago after living in Hawaii and I am SO glad they are close by! I have absolutely loved seeing them embrace parenthood (and rock at it!) and I can’t wait to document so many more moments as they journey through life.

I have never seen a kid perk up as much as Jethro did when Silas got his FAVORITE toy football from the car. When I asked what their favorite thing that Jethro does, Ali mentioned that she loves that he doesn’t go anywhere without his football. He’ll crawl around the house with it tucked in his arm!
It is simply amazing how significant a bond between an infant and a parent can be. How easily you, as the parent, can read their cues and respond is just astounding. I’m still in awe every time I can translate the words my two year old blurts out!
