Earlier this year I ventured to Las Vegas for one of the biggest wedding and portrait photography conferences in the world, WPPI! It was my first time attending and I didn’t know anyone… talk about intimidating!! I was in complete awe at the raw talent of my fellow attendees and overwhelmed by all of the classes and activities! One of my favorite things from the entire conference was a photo walk with Zach and Jody Gray. They are some of photography’s top industry leaders and I got to learn from them first hand! Let alone, that while on the photo walk, I happened upon an unexpected friend :) Sarah (of Sarah Meta Photography) and I started chatting and soon realized that we were both at WPPI alone!

Since the conference, I’ve loved following her work… but she lives in Oregon, so random coffee dates don’t exactly work out. :P When she told me she would be in New York City for a few weeks AND was totally up for visiting us, I was thrilled! This girl is not only an amazing wedding and portrait photographer, but her landscape and nature photography is to die for too!! So what do two photographers do on an open Monday afternoon? Go hiking of course!!

Ricketts Glen has a trail that takes you by 20+ waterfalls, let’s talk about a satisfying hike! Want to take a break? You’re bound to have a stunning waterfall in view :)) I only took a few photos on my hike with Sarah (and I’m sure hers totally trump mine! :P) but I’ll be going back very soon for more. :)

To Sarah, thank you so much for squeezing us in to your east coast trip! You were truly a blessing in a very lonely Vegas trip when I needed it most!! We absolutely loved every second of your visit (including catching fireflies!!) and I am so thankful for to have an industry friend like you :) Next visit we’re totally coming out West!
