I am so very thankful for a little break from the humidity this summer and this beautiful New Jersey Beach Engagement session was the best start to it! Although it was still a little warm last week when we shot this session, the sea breeze made me forget all about the heat! Not to mention I got to hang out with Hayley and Justin who were such FUN people!
How they Met
Justin and Hayley met when a mutual friend introduced them on a train station platform at the University of Utah campus where they both attended school. During the train ride they found out that they were working towards the same degree and were actually in multiple classes together! After a few failed study dates – they talked more than studying :P, Justin found out that Hayley was in a long distance relationship. Their friendship continued to blossom until finally they both ended up single almost 2 years after meeting.
The Proposal
After a bit of long distance and then living together in the Caribbean while Justin attended medical school and Hayley finished her Master’s, they visited their Alma Mater back in Utah! They got dressed up for a nice dinner out and decided to walk around campus reminiscing before ending up on the main lawn. As Foreigner fans, Justin played “Waiting For A Girl Like You” and they slow danced before getting down on one knee! They heard cheers from the bushes and their best friends and family popped out to congratulate them!
Their Spring Lake New Jersey Beach Engagement
After Justin received his placement in Northern New Jersey and they relocated, Hayley and Justin realized it was time to get some professional photos taken to document their engagement. They’re getting married in Utah next summer and I’m so glad I had the chance to meet them last week to capture this exciting time!! They chose such perfect outfits for their beach engagement session. We started at Devine Park in Spring Lake, NJ before heading to the shore for some stunning photos in the sand!
