There are some locations that you see, and just know its going to be a good session. This was one of those places. I got out of my car surrounded by trees, and heard the trickle of water from the stream. I took a few minutes to wander around. The Jim Thorpe Camping Resort has a beautiful stream just off the edge of the campsites. It has a path that goes much further than we ventured, but every area was just beautiful! Dana and Nick did such a great job finding the perfect spot for their elegant meets camping spring engagement session.
How They Met
Dana and Nick met in high school where they were one grade apart. They officially met at a random graduation party. After the party they became Facebook friends but it took about two years for them to chat enough and hang out! They didn’t have a first official date, but always enjoyed hanging out, talking, playing video games and Nick would even play guitar for Dana! :)
The Proposal
This is one of the most unique proposals! Dana hula hoops and Nick is a videographer. In the past they would make epic videos of Dana hula hooping so it wasn’t out of the ordinary for Nick to prep the drone to record for one of these videos. They were on vacation in Florida when Dana wanted to do a video on the beach and Nick happily obliged. He told her to face the ocean while he got the drone ready. He programmed the drone to circle around them before getting down on one knee and asking her to marry him!
Their Jim Thorpe Spring Engagement
Dana and Nick LOVE camping, so when deciding on what type of location they wanted for their engagement session, they knew they had to work in their love for the outdoors. They’ve travelled across the country and camped in such cool places, and the best part? They sleep on TOP of their car! I’ve seen these types of tents in ads and magazines, but never in person so it was really cool to see their rig! The weather this spring has either been absolutely GORGEOUS, or rainy… Luckily we had such a beautiful spring evening for Dana and Nick’s engagement session in Jim Thorpe!
