We have been lucking out with BEAUTIFUL weather for our recent engagement sessions and it was no different for this Fairmount Park engagement! :) Just before Alex & Christina’s engagement session, I was reviewing their love story and started laughing because one of their first dates was at Mad Mex, which is one of my favorite restaurants!! From that moment, I knew we I knew we would get along just fine :P
How They Met
You know that co-worker that you think is all too perfect, but are too nervous to talk to? That is exactly how this love story began! Alex and Christina both started working at Prudential seven years ago, but it took Alex three years to officially introduce himself! After a few chance encounters they started talking a little more frequently and casually went Christmas shopping in King of Prussia to get to know each other. Later they went on a more official first date at Mad Mex!
As with many proposals, this proposal didn’t go quite as planned! Alex planned to propose on a Saturday morning this past May in Fairmount Park along the same paths they normally go hiking and running through. Alex even went as far to plan an engagement party that evening so he HAD to propose that morning in order to actually celebrate that evening. WELL… it was predicted to rain that morning and Alex was getting nervous about if his plan would actually work out! By luck (or maybe fate!), Christina suggested a trip into Philadelphia the evening before to attend the Chinese Lantern Festival in Franklin Square. After their dinner, the walked through the festival and ended at the water fountain where Alex got down on one knee and asked a very important question… :)
When Christina found out Alex’s original plan to propose to her, she made sure they still went to the spot the next morning in Fairmount Park and still had a special moment there!
Their Fairmount Park Engagement
We thought it would only be fitting to revisit the spots in Fairmount Park that these two had run past so often just a few years ago. We stopped by the covered bridge along the Forbidden Drive Trail as well as a beautiful stone bridge and stone arch! These two were so full of joy that I couldn’t help but fall in love with the two of them!! I loved that Christina brought not one but TWO adorable dresses and that they even worked in her wedding colors to the second outfit! Of course we had to work in their love for the Philadelphia Eagles at the end with one last change of clothing :)
