What a way to start our 2019 sessions!! I ventured into Old City Philadelphia to meet Emily and Ryan while they were visiting the city and MAN did I love getting behind the camera again! Emily and Ryan are two of the most fun people, and I’m pretty sure we laughed more during their session than actually taking photos… and that’s saying something because we got a lot of good images!!
How they met
Emily was working at an Optometrist office in college where her coworkers were SET on hooking her up. Ryan came in one day and they all thought he was cute, so clearly her coworkers interrogated him. :) By the time he returned to pick up his glasses a few days later, they were ready to set him up with Emily! They’ve been together since!
The Proposal
Exactly one year ago to the day from their session, Emily and Ryan were celebrating his Match Day. He had a personalized letter that Emily opened, which she thought was his match letter. When she looked up from reading, he was down on one knee!! Emily thought that both of their families were there to celebrate Ryan’s Match Day, but really it was to celebrate their engagement!!
Their Old City Engagement Session
When you think of an engagement session in March, you think of a cold, winter engagement session. You plan outfits for said cold session… and then it turns out to be 75 DEGREES OUTSIDE! As we realized that instead of frigid weather we actually had a beautiful WARM spring day, we were in shock. Not only because it was totally unexpected, but because Emily didn’t plan their outfits for a hot day! I think it worked out though because Emily and Ryan rocked their entire session, even if they didn’t get to wear their first pick for outfits :P I do think their second picks looked pretty darn good :) I can’t wait to venture around Old City again for their wedding later this year!!
